The state’s winemakers are noted for Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc and Gewurztraminer. Additionally, Bordeaux varietals have gained much recognition: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon blanc. Sparkling wines, late harvest, ice wines, and fortified dessert wines are also produced.
